designed obsolescence

Why has apple designed my iphone 4 to fail? It worked fine until IOS9 stopped support of it. Don't you have enough of my money? Shouldn't these products work for the life of the hardware when we buy them? Shall we just throw all these devices in the trash or possibly recycle them so that apple's profits can keep stock holders happy? What about the people? When will the proletariat rise against this consumer injustice?
