Q: Issue with share options for files in MAC

Hi,

I have a Macbook Pro 15" Mid 2015 model with 16 gigs of RAM and i7 processor with OSX El Capitan. I am having issues with the share options whenever I try to share any file with twitter/Airdrop/Messages/Notes etc. At first I was not able to use Airdrop for which I thought must be issue with Airdrop itself but today when I tried to share an image with iMessage, notes and twitter it just doesnt seem to work. If i open finder and try to share with the share button provided in the finder itself , nothing happens , the finder window does not close, double tap on file all the options other than share are greyed out and eventually I have to force close the finder.

These are the list of options in share which are not working.

Whenever I click any of the options above in the finder window all the other options except share are greyed out.

Can someone please advice what should I do.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11)

    Greetings ankitud,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you are having issues with sharing on your Mac running OS X El Capitan. I understand that your situation is slightly different, but to begin troubleshooting I suggest reading over and working through the steps in the following article.

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for the suggestion but I am afraid it didn't solve my issue. I followed the steps as mentioned in the link you posted but the issue that I am facing still persists. Also I have not been able to use Airdrop , similar issue arises when I try to share it using the share options but also when I try to just look as to what all devices are in range it shows nothing although my iPhone and iPad are able to detect each other but not macbook.

Hope you can help me with any of the mentioned issues.

    Cheers!
