how to block site autoload

Hi all:

I am simply trying to never visit a single website.

When I start to type the following in the Safari URL, "mac", the site "http://macroscanner.com" autofills the box, and the site automatically loads. This site then attempts to scan my Mac.

Problem 1: Stop the auto fill of the URL.

-- How do I get Safari to wait until I'm ready to initiate the search?

Problem 2: Stop the autoload of the website.

-- How do I get Safari to never visit that site?

Note: Parental controls [set up UN/PW, create account, etc.] is WAY too heavy handed.

AdBlock & AdBlock Plus: I downloaded and installed both of these. I entered the website in the *ban list*. Website still autofills in the Safari URL and autoloads.

Isn't there a simple "ban list" built into Safari?

Try this.

Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.

2. Delete Cookies
