Q: photo not working in 10.11

After updating to El Capitan the other day my wife tried to use the Photo App. I get a computer prompt that says......"Photos must quit because the photo library has become unavailable or its data is corrupt." Can anybody help on this topic? Thanks Barn

Just an add-on: don't ignore the warning to make a backup before repairing the Photos library. Repairing can damage the library even more, if it already has a corruption.
Have you been trying to access the same Photos library from two different user accounts and to share it with your wife? Where is the library stored? In a shared folder? That does no longer work.
