Q: windows minimise automatically

Hello,
Recently appeared the following problem on my iMac, I would really appreciate someone's help.
2 apps cannot appear on screen at the same time. For instance when I surf online and then I need to write something on Word or work on Photoshop or another app, the browser minimise automatically in order the 2nd app to appear on screen. And then again to return to the browser Word minimises by itself. I searched online to see if someone has had the same problem and I found this but doesn't help my problem.

Thank you for your time.

    Hello TimAthens,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that when you open a new application on your Mac, whatever app is open on the display is being minimized or hidden when the new app opens. The first thing I would like to to check in this situation would be to check and make sure no buttons are being pressed on your keyboard when you open a new application. This behavior could be explained if the Option key or Option and Command keys are being depressed.

From the Mouse clicks and key combinations for the Dock section in the following article:

    • Command-Option-click
Hides other open items, in addition to click action.

If the issue continues, please try to test with a different keyboard if possible. If that is not a possibility or if the issue continues, let us know what type of keyboard you are using and if it is a wired or bluetooth keyboard.

    Have a great day!

    Hi Joe,

    Thank you for your reply.

No buttons are being pressed on my keyboard when I open a new application. No Option key or Option and Command keys are being pressed. I use the regular bluetooth keyboard that comes with iMacs. Searching online I found this  Odd Window Minimizing Problem as the closest one to the situation I'm facing - which unfortunately does not solve my problem.

    Thanks again
