we're having an issue with skype when we connect our ipad to apple tv. Skype works correctly when it's ipad to phone but when we connect the ipad to apple tv via airplay the audio gets garbled and distorted. We tried facetime and it works properly both as just ipad to phone and when connected through airplay.
All of the operating systems and apps are up to date.
Any solution to this issue? We use skype daily and need to sort this out.

The ipad we are using as a reciever to connect to the apple tv is 1st gen ipad mini.
the device on the other end can vary as it is random people in our area. it can be skype on windows or mac depending on the day. The test we did today was with my iphone 6
We've been using this setup for a long time and it has just recently become an issue.
