Why doesn't Google recognize my iPhone?

I have the iPhone 6 Plus and have had it since it came out. Today when I logged into Google (Gmail) via Safari I had to go through a bunch of the security questions and when I view the sign on log with my Google account it now sees my phone as just a generic iPhone and not my iPhone. When I look in Settings -> General -> About the name of my phone is the same as it has been for years. Does the new iOS 9 update cause my phone to no longer be recognized? Should I be concerned? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I already have my gmail account added there to receive emails, but I wanted my google account signed in to safari for other purposes (YouTube, Maps, etc.). The bigger issue/concern is that my phone is no longer recognized as my phone to google. Why does it now show up as a "new" device and google thinks it is not the same phone as it was a few weeks ago?

I have the same exact question. I get security alert emails from Google saying I’ve signed in with a new device when I haven’t. I always click “trust this device” and then for no reason, it forgets my phone all over again. My google account says I’m signed into more than one iPhone when I’m only signed into this one Phone. Sometimes the locations of the phones differ too.
