Will my iPhone 6 lock to a new network if unlocked from Tesco?

HI,

I will be taking a vacation in the USA soon and I want to unlock my iPhone 6 from Tesco network so I can use a local USA sim whilst I'm abroad then switch back to my Tesco sim once I'm back in the UK. I contacted Tesco who have started the unlocking process but were unable to confirm if my phone would automatically lock itself to the new network - therefore causing me trouble and maybe money to have it unlocked again so I can use it as normal back in the UK. Tesco advised me to contact Apple to confirm the above scenario will not happen. Please can someone advise me?

Once you follow these steps, the phone is forever unlocked, and no sim from any other carrier will change that

Can anyone confirm from experience?

I am still confused as I've read online that some apple software causes the phone to automatically lock to a new provider after having been unlocked from the original carrier? Is that a rumour?

yes, it's a rumor. Phones that are OFFICIALLY unlocked will remain unlocked.

Can anyone also confirm that when I switch from the USA sim back to my Tesco sim - will I have to connect to iTunes and back-up and restore etc? Or just pop the sim in a it will sort itself out?

putting in a SIM has no effect on what's stored on the phone.
