Q: Watch OS 2 made my AppleWatch into iPhone 3G like device

Ladies and gents,

Is It just me or anyone else also having this?!

Basically. After Watch OS 2 my AppleWatch became one sluggish device + more.

1. Time after time hangs when opening Workout app. You peeped for the run (aka warm up), go outside and sometimes spend up to 5min before you start running. Happens once in 5x times. Happened once on Watch OS 1.

2. ApplePay. I use my AppleWatch on the Tube (London Underground) so I use ApplePay at least 8x times a day, 5x days a week. And now at least once every 2nd day I get weird looks and frustration flow over me when I stop people flow in early peak hour rush because of my AppleWatch decided to hang or so. With Watch OS 1 it happened max 1x a month and just because it was strapped loosely.

3. Workout app and distance. Due to overpacked Tube stations I do walk for 20mins to further station to avoid that crawding. I set up my Workout app on outdoor walk and - walk. I start at the doors of my office and finish at the stares of the station And walking the same roads etc. Weirdly enough when I finish my walk distance varies from right bellow 1mi and 1.2mi

I do understand that it can varie due to my walking habit depending from the day or so, people around me affecting me to not to walk in the straight line etc, but not variation as big as .2mi on 1mi total distance.

QUestions will be - do I use some resource intensive apps which could affect my watch performance?!

Answer is no. I use only stock apps, more like nothing apart from Workout app, watch face and Notiffications for Mail and Messages. Disabled the rest + removed any 3rd party app extensions because A - most of them are useless, B - I like to keep my watch as simple as possible (I do believe Smart watch suppose to be just a watch with some smart features instead of yet another down scaled iPhone on my wrist)

Hope this makes sense.

Please share if you are also experiencing those issues or if you know the "cure" for this.

Thanks.

Regards,

Kris M

I'm having similar issues too. In addition to seeing no noticeable difference in third-party app performance, I'm seeing problems with native apps in 2.0.

I'm also having problems with ApplePay being sluggish. ForceTouch is particularly slow, most noticeably in the Workout app when I'm trying to end a workout.

I'm hoping 2.1 is an improvement.
