Q: Apple Configurator 2 issue - "restriction preventing install of apps"

After a recent upgrade to Apple Configurator 2, disaster has struck for our iPad fleet (using OSX 10.11, iOS 9 in a primary school with supervised devices/VPP). All migrated profiles (and a new one recently created) do not allow any apps to be installed. The following messages appear:

"Configurator could not install [app] on [iPad]. The device has a restriction that prevents the installation of apps."

This message appears even when, in the profile tab under Restrictions > Functionality, "Allow installing apps using Apple Configurator and iTunes" feature is on.

The only work around for this at the moment is to remove all installed profiles, add the apps, add profile again. (That said, the profile doesn't complete operate as it should, with authentication prompts galore for our school WiFi).

Does anyone have any tips as to why this might be happening or a possible solution?

iPad Air, iOS 9.0.2

I was able to resolve this by launching Configurator version 1.7 (which I had to restore from a Time Machine backup), removing the configuration profile that was restricting app installations, quit, and then launch Configurator 2. Create a new configuration profile using Configurator 2 and install the new profile on your device.
