AppleTV (3rd Gen) & AppleMusic

There's no indication at this point that Apple Music will be available on any Apple Tv but the 4th Gen.

Unless a software update for the 3rd gen comes along with the release of the 4th gen, its unlikely it will be available.

Apple has said nothing about either way.

It is preposterous that this update has not yet been provided. What is the point of Apple Music if I can’t use playlists on my Apple TV? Fully half the music that appears on my computer and phone are unavailable through the Apple TV. This is ridiculous, as there is no hardware limitation to prevent the implementation.

That is not a technical question. It is not available on the 3rd gen and fellow users cannot answer questions as to why that is. I didn't edit anything, moderators will edit or remove posts if deemed against the TOS. This is a forum for troubleshooting issues, not discussing policies or rants

The Hosts or Admins can and will edit anything they deem is violating the TOS of this forum. It is their prerogative and you must abide by the rules of this forum, or your posts can and will be edited by them whether you like it or not.

Rants, and discussion of Apple's choices and policies are not allowed as described in the Terms of Service you agreed to when signing up for them.

Only the 4th gen Apple Tv has access to Apple Music. Whether any other model will or should is not up for debate. They currently do not support Apple Music.

Still waiting on Apple's response to this issue. And before someone mentions it, here are my technical questions: What is the technical barrier to updating the 3rd gen Apple TV to use Apple Music? Is it a hardware issue? Software incompatibility with legacy Beats architecture? Any and all help will be appreciated.

If your waiting for Apple to respond to you here then you will be waiting forever. This is a user to user support community - not Apple. Based upon the terms of service that we all agreed to when we registered for the community speculation and rumors are not allowed so until Apple releases some sort of statement then no one here can answer your question as to "why" Apple Music is not available on the ATV3 or if it ever will be...

My point is not to get a response from Apple, but to keep this issue in front of them and other impacted users. Apple does not respond here, but the number of edited posts certainly demonstrates that they read here.

I think you may be confusing Apple for the community hosts. I would be surprised if Apple DIDN'T read anything here. But they are not editing/deleting posts That would be the user community hosts...

Why would an unpaid "community host" edit my post if I imply a refusal to add certain features is a marketing ploy to increase sales? Seems like something only an employee would be concerned with.

NNot knowing what you have had removed I am just assuming that what was included did not meet the rules based upon the TOS for the community.

Again, thanks for the information. I'd say my posts definitely involve "constructive feedback about product features."

This forum is used for community support on troubleshooting issues, not rants or discussing policy. The bottom line is that it's not available, if you have a complaint then contact Apple.

Who says community hosts are unpaid?

They are Apple Employees, hired and paid to manage the forum. They are not Apple executives or decision makers. They are also tasked with removing anything that violates the TOS. Speculating why Apple does or does not do something is a clear violation of the TOS.
