Q: iTunes 12.3.1.23 breaks iTunes store

Just installed 12.3.1.23 and now the iTunes store just presents a scrambled banner across the top and a black screen.  You can briefly see the correct screen as it loads but then is blanked out.  Clicking on the banner brings up Demi Lovatos new album but the screen is completely scrambled.  Win 7.1 (64), nVidia with latest driver.

Using MacPro (late 2013) with AMD D300 graphic card bootcamped Windows 10 Pro have the same issue. Reducing size helps but this is a poor workaround - needs urgent fix!!!

It's been 5 weeks and nothing from Apple, I don't think Apple sees any problems that they create on the Windows platform as something that needs to be fixed urgently

I just downloaded a new AMD driver and software update -- Crimson. My graphics card is a Radeon R9 200 series. It made no difference with the black screen. I still have the problem and the work around using the smaller window size works the same.

I am having this problem. I am not changing any settings on my monitor which is now calibrated to work on my work software. I will no longer be purchasing songs from iTunes until they fix this. I am not wasting time on work-arounds.

Same for me, think apple have missed this one.  Spoke to them on the phone and they said they dont know anything about it, but that was just a call centre chap rather then their 3rd line techs.  Heyho it's itunes and it never works as it shold for very long, i accept that now over the years of it being a pain to use.

Would be nice if Apple can fix this one though.

So is this issue solved in iTunes 12.3.2, which was released today?

absolutely NOT!...I keep hearing how Apple is better than Microsoft...sorry but I see more and more problems with quality with Apple...after all the complaints, they still have not resolved, really?   ridiculous

If anything the problem is worse.  Now, in addition to the black screen when the window is full screen on large pixel count monitors, there are flickering play arrows all over the place.  Fortunately shrinking the window still works.  Apparently Apple cares a lot more about selling content to Mac users than Windows users

And them saying they didn't know about it is total bunk.  Many have called their support lines to report this.

"And them saying they didn't know about it is total bunk.  Many have called their support lines to report this."

Reporting issues via Apple's iTunes Feedback page may be more productive than calling Tier 1 support, who are trained to work to scripts and rarely have detailed technical knowledge.

agree the problem is worse...and yes the shrinking the window does provide a workaround as you suggested...

Temporary Solution: On high resolution monitors more than 2048 pixels wide, the iTunes window needs to be shrunk to a smaller size.  Do not run maximized.  Shrink the iTunes window until the Store renders properly.

This appears to be a rendering issue with higher resolution monitors.

My current resolution is 2560x1440, Windows 10 Pro, iTunes 12.3.2.35.  iTunes Store and the New Tab will properly display until an iTunes resolution of about 2048 pixels wide. Anything wider than that, the windows starts going crazy.

I think it has to do with the "Highlight" album and artist selections at the top of the browser.  I think it can't draw correctly past 2048 pixels.  And since that's a base 2 number (2^11), it's probably a programming error within the iTunes browser.

I spoke to a "Michele" through Apple Support and she documented everything I found and marked it as a bug.

Thanks, I actually talked to someone at Apple Support back in October stating almost the same thing.  Hopefully your report will go farther than mine did.

The reduction in window size to temporarily fix the problem was mentioned back on October 25, which I also reported to Apple.
