Q: How do I install an earlier verison of safair

I have a macbook running os x version 10.7.5 I installed an update of Safari and now it will not work with my operating system. I want to go back to an earlier version. I did not have time machine on

MacBook (13-inch Late 2009), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Where did you get this update? Safari comes with OS X. he only way to install the latest update of Safari is to install the latest OS X.
What happens when you click on Safari icon?

I think it was from the safari website. the Safari icon has a big x over it and when I click it it says that I can't use that version of safari I need XO 10.10 or higher

You can download the latest Safari only with the latest OS X. It is the system application and you cannot download it from 3rd party sources. Obviously you should update your OS X to be able to use it or reinstall current OS X.
