Mail sending issue with one account

I have several email accounts and have no problem sending mail from them - Gmail, iCloud. But an Orange account is causing problems. I asm asked to confirm the SMTP but the message stays in the Outbox. However if I reboot the message goes instantly after the Macbook Pro OS X restarts. I have checked the SMTP details with Orange. Can anyone help please. Thanks
