Try to follow the instructions on this page in order to maximize your battery life:

http://osxdaily.com/2015/09/21/fix-ios-9-battery-life-problems/

https://www.apple.com/batteries/maximizing-performance/

Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on the phone.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

You may also try to reset all settings: go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

You may also try to follow these steps:

1. Navigate to settings/general/ battery usage. Check the applications. This will show you which app eats up your battery.

2. Turn off iCloud keychain: Navigate to Settings/ iCloud/Keychain / turn it off.

3. Limit apps activity on the background: Navigate to Settings/ general/ Background App refresh/ turn it off for each application which uses to much power.

4. Disable auto brightness: Navigate to settings/ display and brightness/ auto-brightness. Turn this option off.

If nothing helps take your device to the Apple Store.

Okie whatever you say. If only apple didnt provide tools to see what was consuming the data you might be able to think that.

Full charge 3.25 hours ago. 66% of the battery has been taken up by "Phone" while "Mail" has taken another 25%. My battery is at 9% after 3.25 hours. I have not talked on it a single time this morning while the "phone" has consumed 66% of the consumed charge.

You might find this thing called google handy. It can show you others with the same problems. One forum post is nothing - 1000 forum posts in a week is substantial and is what the 6s battery issue has caused.

I am glad you and your friends have phones though.

Good for you and your friends. ;-)

You were just not so lucky like us.

My iPhone got so useless after upgrading to IOS 9.1. I can even have fun staring at the battery percent go down almost every minute. And that is after following your advice above.

I play games half of the day (even during work hours, thanks to lowest brightness settings hehe) using iPhone 5s for about 2 years now. Never had any issues like this. The battery drain I got prior to latest version was acceptable 3-4 hours almost non-stop usage of 3D games. Now, I play for 5 minutes and battery's down to 20%.

I hope they get the fix deployed to us soon, I felt like being thrown back in time where Symbian rules. LOL
