Can't type because space bar reverts to Finder

I did the update today (10.11.1) and now every time I press the space bar it switches to Finder, no matter what I type in.

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

It should only bring up Spotlight when you press Command+Space.

If it does it every time you press Space, check the shortcuts in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Spotlight (on the left)

You can simply uncheck "Show Spotlight Search," or change the shortcut.

Try that and see what happens

I turned my keyboard off and on again, it was still happening but now it's fixed somehow. I read earlier that there were typing problems with the latest update, assumed this was one of them.
