Q: I can't seem to pair my new Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard...

So I am up to date on my OS and I have successfully used a magic mouse on, wireless keyboard (battery operated) with my Mac. Just unwrapped the new Magic Keyboard and Trackpad as it was getting a little annoying changing the batteries regularly. Only problem is that they are not very wireless. Followed the instructions to the letter and I don't seem to be able to pair either via blue tooth only by the lightening connection that is provided with them. They have been plugged in long enough to be fully charged so I don't think thats the issue. When I go in to system preferences neither one even registers as a keyboard or trackpad.

I have tried turning my blue tooth on and off again

Shutting down my computer fully

Turn off the keyboard and trackpad and back on again after a full shut down or after blue tooth has been switched on again.

I have gone into settings and deleted (unpaired) my old mouse and keyboard.

Help! Please! I am drowing in wires
