I downloaded El Capitain and now my Microsoft Office doesn't work. It sends me a message: "The office for Mac installation did not complete successfully because there was a problem with the installer". I cannot find my cd to do that so now what can I do?

I have version Microsoft 2011 and when I received it I did register it
If you no longer have the installation media, contact Microsoft about a replacement.
When I was looking for a replacement this popped up:

So it seems I will be looking for apps. For some reason I should have listened to that little person in my head and not started the download of El Capitian! Ugh
I don't see what that has to do with the problem you're having at all. The compatibility problems it addresses don't have anything to do with the error you reported.
