My rescue email address still seems to be valid when I try and delete it and then use it as my primary email address.
I called Apple and spent half hour trying to explain the problem. They said I need to sign out of all my devices with my appleID, which I did, made sure the rescue email was no longer listed there, but it still doesn't allow me to use this as my primary ID.

Apple stop reading from a textbook and think about this problem – there's a bug in your system, yet again!!!
