"Return" key not working

I have a new i-mac, but it is just beyond the Apple-care service plan.
The "Return" key does not work.
It works for one of the users, but does not work for the administrator. It just does not do anything for the administrator. It works just fine for the user. I tried a new keyboard and the same thing happens. The Return key doesn't work with the new keyboard. I took the old keyboard to another i-mac and the Return key works.
Is it a setting or something like that which is wrong in the Administrator but not in the other user?
Thanks very much for your help.

Actually, I just figured it out by finding someone who had this problem previously.

So here's what to do:
go to system prefs and then choose speech
then select the "key..." option
The key for "listening" is probably set to "d." My son had set it to "return."
I would recommend changing it to something like "control-F13"

Hope this helps.

Personally, I think the mac guys are jerks because I called them and they refused to take a few seconds out of their time to help me, as I had purchased the computer 4 months ago (not less than 3 months). I paid over a $1400 for the computer and they refused to help. Unfortunately these mac guys are just money-greedy jerks.

If it doesn't help, try searching through previous posts to see if you can find something that helps.

All the best to you....
