This release includes new features, improvements and bug fixes, including:
• Live Photos now intelligently senses when you raise or lower your iPhone, so that Live Photos will automatically not record these movements
• Over 150 new emoji characters with full support for Unicode 7.0 and 8.0 emojis
• Improved stability including CarPlay, Music, Photos, Safari, and Search
• Improved performance while in Multitasking UI
• Fixes an issue that could cause Calendar to become unresponsive in Month view
• Fixes an issue that prevented Game Center from launching for some users
• Resolves an issue that zoomed the content of some apps
• Resolves an issue that could cause an incorrect unread mail count for POP mail accounts
• Fixes an issue that prevented users from removing recent contacts from new mail or messages
• Fixes an issue that caused some messages to not appear in Mail search results
• Resolves an issue that left a gray bar in the body of an Audio Message
• Fixes an issue that caused activation errors on some carriers

9.1 Security
Is there a matrix that shows what IOS 9.1 features work on the various models of iPads and iPhones? I have an iPad 3rd generation and not all of the IOS 9.1 features work/are available. A matrix or table would be very helpful to determine what devices can or cannot take advantage of the many IOS 9.1 features. It would also help me determine if I should buy a new iPad.
I hate, loathe and despise 9.1.
How do I go back to 9.0?

Downgrading is not supported by Apple, because it can cause more serious issues than you're currently experiencing, including the possibility of complete data loss.
And what, exactly, is it about 9.1 compared to 9.0 that you 'loathe & despise'?
And why not just update to 9.2?

Why am I not surprised Apple won't support it.
I despise the fact that Apple had the temerity to force an Apple watch icon on me, and I had to find out how to shove it in a folder so I didn't have to see it, and it can't be deleted.
I loathe the fact that I can't get rid of the update reminder for well and good, and that it will pop up again and I have to go through the steps to delete the update again - but not permanently.
I don't like presumption.
Will 9.2 do away with the above?

Updates are optional for the user. The content of updates are available to review before you update. As far as the Settings icon, updates usually content important, behind-the-scenes improvements, like security for example. Go to www.apple.com/feedback and voice your opinion about that. Perhaps Apple will include the option to hide the update prompt in a future update.
It boils down to you don't like the aesthetic. Fair enough. Personally, I don't think that's a sufficient reason to 'loathe' something.

Yes, I would go Android too (sarcasm). They hardly ever update their OS for users, or update security settings, since their mobile OS is quite vulnerable. If you were unsure of how to move an icon to a folder, you may not have been into Apple iOS for long, but someone could have answered that question for you quickly. And lets not forget that Android doesn't include things you wouldn't use like the Watch app. Of course, their OS is full of bloatware, not only manufacturer specific, but even cellular carriers add their own junk as well.
