Bold shortcut not on keyboard any more?

I Use Pages a lot on my iPad Air. Lately, possibly since getting the Latest iOS update, the bold and italic icons/buttons have dissapeard from above the on screen keyboard.

I am visually impaired and I rely on those buttons a lot.

HOw can I get them back, please?

thanks

iPad Air, iOS 9.0.2

Hi Helaine Annert,

I understand that you are looking for the options for bold and italicized text in the newest update of Pages for your iPad. The following link to the help article for the latest update should be able to help you:

Change text using the keyboard

You can use buttons above the keyboard to quickly change the font. Text formatting buttons appear on the left and right of the predictive text fields.

If your keyboard doesn’t show predictive text, swipe up on the white handle above the Y key.

User uploaded file

Do any of the following:

  • Change the font: Tap the font name on the left side of the predictive text, then tap a font.

  • Change the font style: Tap the font name, tap User uploaded file next to the font name, then tap a format (regular, bold, italic, semibold, for example).

  • Change the font size: Tap User uploaded file, then tap a size.

  • Add bold, italic, or underline: Tap User uploaded file, then tap a button at the bottom of the menu.
