I've got a lot of keynote files for an iBooks Author project. Some have ceased to open. "xxx.key can't be opened for some reason." None of the previous versions can be read.
I've pulled old backups off Time Machine and they won't open.
I've tried the zip renaming trick to no success. Fixing permissions is not possible since El Capitan.
Stuck.

Still no joy. I can't work out what it is that prevents only certain files from opening.
Fixed with update 6.6.1. Apple, I am your dog.
I can now open and play correctly all previous filetypes back to version 3
No love here-I just bought a new MacAir Capitan, Keynote 6.6.1 -restored with Time Machine from old Mac.
Keynote will not open some files from my older MacAir. Just some-and there does not seem to be a consistency.
This is beyond frustrating...
