Q: iOS 9.1 causing app store issues

hello, i have updated my iPhone 6s to IOS 9.1, which claims to fix in issue with app store downloads and game center log in.

strange enough, i started having these issues after the update, i never faced it with IOS 9.0.2. now i'm unable to use the app store for any download, and i can't access game center either. i'm even facing some wifi connectivity issues. so basically, IOS 9.1 gave me the issues that it was supposed to solve

i have tried hard resets and restores, i have lost some valuable data and apps along the way, nothing worked. i'm using iTunes on my macbook to install apps for the time being. but any idea how to fix this ? never in 6 years i faced issues with iPhones. so i guess now apple have broken my virginity.

What they're experiencing is not really the same issue though since our problem specifically affects apps connected to the App Store and iTunes account (App Store, iTunes, Apple Music) and is not just a syncing problem but these services are pretty much broken altogether when I'm signed into my App Store account on iOS 9.1. Also, if I sign out of my App Store account (I have to restart my devices after because the screen just hangs there like it never signed out) I can stream radio stations again from Apple Music, of course that's not a real solution for obvious reasons.

    Fixed all our problems immediately.

In 9.0.2 everything works as it should.

Strange enough, after i downgraded, my gf was using my phone for texting, and she got the update to 9.1 notification, so she pressed update..

my iphon updated again to 9.1, but this time it works perfect, app store is not just downloading, it's actually faster than ever, battery life is way better, and everything else is just working fine.. Only after the update, a couple of apps disappeared, but i downloaded them again with all their data still saved on my phone. This whole thing was just a strange experience :/

Are you sure that it's consistently working? Something that I completely forgot to mention is that for short periods of time (and one long period of time) things would work fine but would later break after some time. For the most part though it's consistently broken.

That has nothing to do with this problem. I've never had, and still don't have restrictions turned on anyway.

For people still experiencing this problem and haven't downgraded back to iOS 9.0.2 like me, there is a very temporary fix that consistently works to be able to update or download a few apps. If you sign out of your App Store account, power off and on your iOS device, and sign back into the App Store (if you're experiencing this bug then you won't be able to sign back into the App Store until you restart the device), there's a variable amount of time where everything works as normal, but it usually only lasts for about a minute or so, so you can download and update a few apps as long as you're quick about it.

I am having this same problem, across all my devices that are on 9.1.

Symptoms include:  No "download" or "get" or any icon in the usual place near apps on the app store, and download icons (cloud with an arrow) for apps that are already installed on the phone.  Trying to install an app or an update just hangs.  Apple Music:  you try to play a song, and it hangs on the playing screen for about 30 seconds before going to the "You have to join Apple Music" screen.  The radio tab doesn't load.  It's not possible to got to any of the Apple ID screens (through music or through the settings app)--it's just white.

Pretty much exactly the same issues I was having.

Surprisingly, the iTunes store app was working fine.

Yup, same thing I'm currently going through. I actually found out something to make things a little tolerable for myself even though it's still not a real solution to the problem. If I stay signed out of the App Store account I can listen to the Apple Music radio stations (my favorite part of Apple Music) and App Store updates are designed to still download even if you're not signed in. If you want to download an app not on your device you have to do the trick that I mentioned in my last post.

I actually never tried to see if the iTunes Store is working since the only thing I ever purchase there is the Movie of the Week sometimes.

Wondering if this is somehow Apple ID related as it did the exact same things on 3 of the 4 phones in my family (a 6+, 5s and 5c...my other son never updated his 5s).

I even didn't get the chance to turn Apple music on or off as the option doesn't even exist.

I'm going to stay downgraded on 9.0.2 until I hear on this thread that 9.2 fixes this.

I was actually mistaken with my last post. I can't listen to radio stations unless I'm signed into the App Store account which is the same as the Apple Music account

ok..i posted above that downgrading then upgrading again got the phone working fine. but it seems like that is just temporary, as the app store is messed up again on 9.1, so the best option is stay on 9.0.2... this seems to be a wide problem and seriously frustrating. seems like apple have heard of the issue, that's how come they are yet to stop signing 9.0.2. so i'm going back to 9.0.2 and staying there till this is fixed.

but seriously apple since IOS 8, the platform have got more rich, but the richer it became, the less reliable...

I think this is an App Store and iTunes problem across iOS and OS X. I am unable to sign into the App Store from my iMac and unable to download and purchase music from iTunes on iMac as well as from my Apple devices running iOS 9.1 (iPhone 6s and iPad)
