Nov 11, 2015 10:09 AM in response to Jazzmast3rby japhy,I had never used family sharing before but just enabled it to do the working Apple ID workaround. It worked like a charm for app installs, which was the first time I've had this working in literally months. Felt good!
But keep in mind it won't solve any in-app purchases or Apple Music issues.

Nov 11, 2015 10:14 AM in response to japhyby Jazzmast3r,@Japhy, did you reset your iPhone settings and set up as new to use your new apple id, or did you just sign out with your old id? Just trying to get the correct process before doing this. I either have to do the workaround, or drive 150 miles to the nearest Apple store. Thanks.

Nov 11, 2015 10:19 AM in response to Jazzmast3rby japhy,It wasn't too complicated. I had to login first with the broken ID, which requires me to reboot the device first since 8.4. Once I setup the family sharing using the broken ID, I simply logged out and logged back in with the working ID. DO NOT GO TO THE APPLE STORE. There is nothing they can do about this. Apple corporate has to fix this on the server side, and probably with a software update.

Nov 11, 2015 10:39 AM in response to Jazzmast3rby smnlo,Let's look at this bug in a slightly different way. If the Apple ID was corrupted, we couldn't do anything as normal on MacBook, mine is on OSX El Capitan version 10.11.1, where everything is perfect...
On September 9th I bought a new iPhone 6, it was running under IOS 9.02: Everything was perfect.
On October 23rd morning, I updated to IOS 9.1, and all dreaded symptoms happened, shame is I launched the update on my iPad Mini exactly at the same time, as like the IPhone, it was running without any issues under IOS 9.02.
So October 23rd, both iPhone & IPad showing same symptoms.
Did everything Apple support told me to: reset internet connections, ultimately reset iPad Mini and iPhone. I started with the iPhone trying a restore from last iCloud back up: And I noticed that it hadn't done a back since October 20th, when the iPad backed up OK every day. iPhone eventually died, stuck on the black screen with Apple logo in the middle.
Now, on both my devices I use only: emails, Apple Music (paid subscription up-to-date) ITunes Match (paid subscription up-to-date too), look at Internet via Safari, use: Twitter, Facebook, IMDB, the Weather, and my banking app, that is all, no Gaming, no Face Time, none of that stuff...
Saturday October 31st: Appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store: Nothing they knew about the issue, apart from confirming that I didn't do anything wrong on my devices. I bought then an iPod Touch, just to be able to use my Apple Music subscription, that IPod Touch running on IOS 9.02 was set completely new, so if an Apple ID problem existed, I couldn't set it right? All fine, that IPod Touch prompted me all week to update to IOS 9.1, which I ignored.
From Saturday 31st October: iPhone: not working, IPad started to work as normal from the following Monday night, non-stop, until this past Sunday.
Monday November 9th, second appointment at the Apple Store: I gave them back the iPod Touch for refund, because I my iPhone is working, I don't need an IPod... They gave me a new iPhone 6, running on IOS 8.4.1: Set as new: no problem at all! Again, if it was a corrupted Apple ID, I couldn't set a new device?...
Ipad is working on & off... Like the IPod Touch, it is prompting me to update to IOS 9.1: I ignore it again...
On the thread I started on October 23rd, I named it "Apple Music not working since IOS 9.1 Update", which is after all these conversations very misleading: there is nothing wrong with Apple Music as long as it is not running on IOS 9.1, but that was the very first thing I noticed.
Now I check in a different way, if Hyperlinks in my emails are not loading in Safari I know that Apple Music won't play... it will show everything, but not play, and Beats 1 won't load, if while Hyperlinks are not opening in emails and I want to download/update an App I own: It will not download, and not update.
To me corruption of Apple ID is a "side effect", otherwise why Hyperlinks would not load from emails? This is not linked to any Apple ID....
I hope I didn't bore you.... Any thoughts?

Nov 11, 2015 11:57 AM in response to smnloby m.bagnasacco,THat's a vey good point.
i'm not a developper so i can't tell how the not-opening-email-links bug is related to the app store bug but on the user side i can't see any logic relation between the two

Nov 11, 2015 1:19 PM in response to smnloby Jazzmast3r,Points well made. But I have not suspected the cause to be a corrupted Apple ID because iTunes on my desktop works perfect. I can purchase apps, books, music, and sync them to my iPhone, but I cannot do these things from the iPhone. iTunes works for me on Windows 7 and Mac OSX El Capitan so I suspect the culprit is iOS 9.1 and how it handles my Apple ID.
When I was using my iPhone 5s with 9.1 I did notice that hyperlinks did not work on Safari, or Google Chrome. I didn't pay much mind to it because I was dealing with so many other issues that hyperlinks not working seemed trivial in relation to Apple Music and App store issues. On the 5s I went through various restores, and setting resets until I just gave up. A few days later I go a 6s thinking then that the problem was hardware. As I've stated previously, everything was working right until I updated to iOS 9.1. Learning from my experience with the 5s and knowing the results would be the same, I did not restore the 6s because I have all my purchased apps on it, including restored purchases - just can't download anything else now. Hyperlinks work on Safari and Chrome, Facetime works. The iPhone functions right, and most apps work - except Pandora. Health apps work too. BUT, I have not logged out of anything, or restored since I first got the device out of the box and updated to 9.1. If I log out of anything I know I may not be able to get back in, and if I do manage to log back in most of my apps will begin to hang or freeze the phone.

Nov 11, 2015 2:09 PM in response to Jazzmast3rby LeoDeo,I've reset the phone to factory default then setup the phone as new. That did work for me for about a day and then the problem started happening after I started using Apple Music. I've also been to the Genius Bar and had the phone replaced. That also worked for about a day then the problem started happening again. I've talked to Apple support and still waiting back from the engineering team which I was told will take a couple of days. i have also upgraded to 9.2 beta 3 And the problem still exists.
MY temporary workaround that has been working so far is to:
create a a new Apple ID
from the main account add the new ID to the family
sign in to the iCloud from the iphone with the new account (you will have to sign out from the main ID) and accept the invitation
you can sign out from iCloud and sign back in with the main account
sign out of the App Store
restart phone( might not have to actually do but this is what I did)
sign in to the App Store with with the new ID
everything works again ( links in email, apple Music, App Store downloading, password settings for App Store )
if you want Apple Music to work you will either have to upgrade to the family plan or sign up for the free trial on the new account an hope Apple will fix this problem within the trial.

Nov 11, 2015 6:02 PM in response to smnloby PhDSBR,I would like to say to all of you my friends who also have the same problem on the iPhone. I mean I have checked daily this discussion here in this list but only now decided to also write to join this fight. Let announced that the My Apple ID with uol.com.br problem is, and I created a new Apple iD gmail.com it is working properly. Of course this new Apple ID is provisional until Apple can fix this terrible flaw in iOS 9.1. Would very much appreciate this discussion with Apple understand that this is not an isolated problem but a problem that is affecting many people in the world but they are not reporting her the problem and just follow the discussions mainly because they are not in the USA. For registration of my problem I had this problem with the iPhone 5s but managed to solve making it and the downgrade to iOS 9.0.2 but bought a new iPhone 6 and upgraded it to 9.1 and it was a moment that could not downgrade, which in fact it was only solution and that unfortunately Apple no longer allows accomplish. Finally I want to say I'm awaiting a solution from Apple and that at least recognizes this problem right now and apologize for their lack with all of us who had this problem that brings us both disorders. I apologize for my English translated by Google.

Nov 11, 2015 10:22 PM in response to John Bergmayerby Robert Myers8,same issues here. i now have 25 apps in the "update" queue on the iphone app store. none will update and no new apps will download.
music app is identical, all music that used to reside on the phone is gone.
while doing a "restore iphone" followed by a "restore backup" i found this thread. the restore attempts did not change anything.

Nov 11, 2015 11:37 PM in response to Robert Myers8by Adnan_Z_Manjal,For now I suggest you do what I do when updating apps.
Download them on iTunes (for iPhone), update them there and connect your iPhone via cable. Update and sync.
I've been doing this every few days since the problem started 3 weeks ago.

Nov 12, 2015 12:45 AM in response to Adnan_Z_Manjalby m.bagnasacco,As a temporary fix that will work, unfortunately it's only possible to buy/update apps via iTunes but it's not possible to buy any in-app purchase

Nov 12, 2015 5:38 PM in response to Drashad86by brianmatute,It is a great relief to have found this forum and understand that I am not alone. I tried everything and I could not solve my problem, I'm temporarily using a family sharing account. I recommend to everyone, enter to the public beta of iOS 9.2 and send all your complaints to Apple, using the feedback tool for betas. Maybe they hear us, given that we are a minority with this failure ..

I recommend that anyone that obtains beta software first understand that beta software is, by definition, untested and subject to a myriad of problems.

Nov 13, 2015 7:05 AM in response to Robert Myers8by ThndrSvn,I've been having this issue as well, more on my iPad than iPhone for whatever reason.
Like you I'll end up with a dozen or more updates that look they downloaded but never installed (download circle is complete), and it'll stay that way indefinitely. I have learned that you can individually, a few apps at a time, click the square in the middle of the circle to cancel the update. The circle then returns to the 'Update' button. Click the update button and it should download and install.

Nov 14, 2015 5:18 AM in response to Drashad86by ktorster,The shame of all this is, I can stay on 9.0.2 as long as I need to, but when the day comes I need to replace one of my family's iPhones or iPads and the problem is not fixed, I might as well go to a Samsung or LG (if the choice is that or starting over with a new Apple ID).
I'm starting to feel the same way with OS X. As I work with Windows all day, there really isn't that much of a difference anymore and when it's time to replace my MacBook, I'm going to seriously look at Windows machines.
I hate that it's come to this, but it's almost like Apple just doesn't care anymore. Things no longer "just work."
