Q: iOS 9.1 causing app store issues

hello, i have updated my iPhone 6s to IOS 9.1, which claims to fix in issue with app store downloads and game center log in.

strange enough, i started having these issues after the update, i never faced it with IOS 9.0.2. now i'm unable to use the app store for any download, and i can't access game center either. i'm even facing some wifi connectivity issues. so basically, IOS 9.1 gave me the issues that it was supposed to solve

i have tried hard resets and restores, i have lost some valuable data and apps along the way, nothing worked. i'm using iTunes on my macbook to install apps for the time being. but any idea how to fix this ? never in 6 years i faced issues with iPhones. so i guess now apple have broken my virginity.

Never Enabled Family Sharing. Like most on this thread replied, this is affecting certain Apple IDs on iOS 9.1 only.

Everything is working fine on my Mac and new Apple TV (App Store, Apple Music, etc).

I'm checking new on iOS 9.2 daily!

tthere is a 13 page thread in the apple music forum about this exact issue. It started happening to me after updating to 9.1. the exact problems everyone here described. Hard reset would only offer a temporary fix. Even restored My phone as new in DFU mode. Finally took it into the apple store. Overheard one saying "he has the Apple ID issue" and they knew exactly why I was there. Felt surprising because I had not heard of the issue except for on these forums. They ended up giving me a new 6 plus with 8.4.1. They told me not to update it until a fix was released and the genius escalated the issue to engineering. My phone on 8.4.1 is running flawlessly but I'm still ****** because I can't pair it with my apple watch until i update. Hopefully a fix is coming soon so I can use my watch again and have the latest software. Public beta 9.2 doesn't work so don't try it. Hopefully there is a fix out there for us

Yes, even AppleCare on the phone were not able to do anything else other than what is prescribed by users on this thread. And nothing worked. They finally said that they raised the issue to engineering, and it stalled there since last week.

I think Apple is aware of it. The guy on from AppleCare told me that they've been having issues since iOS 9 came out (which explains the many updates till now). The frustrating thing, is that for all of us, this problem never creeped until iOS 9.1

I never use iOS Beta, not comfortable doing that.

So far, news wise, people having been talking about the "new" featured but none of the fixes yet.

At least we're now almost sure that the issue has been acknowledged by Apple, a couple of days ago when i went to Apple store the guy told me he never encountered that problem.

I feel very frustrated about the Apple policy of denying a problem until they have a fix.

What we need to do to get this fixed at this point is raise awareness.

Everyone here should be writing Tim Cook *********.com as well as writing emails to every Apple related blog and magazine.

The more we make our voices know, the quicker Apple will acknowledge and fix it. Otherwise, 9.0.2 is the end of the road for me and if I have to get a new phone and it's still not fixed, I'll have to move to an Android (as much as I hate to say it).

I think you missed my point. What I'm saying is if I had for some reason to get a new phone, that couldn't be downgraded, the iPhone would be worthless to me if I couldn't use Apple Music or the App Store. I might as well just get an Android then. It's not like I would WANT to.
