Consistently loosing internet connection

I am having a problem with my Time Capsule. I have a 3TB Time capsule, that was purchased last December, connected to a Ubee Cable Modem on Brighthouse networks. I am knocked off almost every day at least once a day. Brighthouse has been out here numerous times to replace modems, check connections, etc. It mostly started when they upgraded my service to 15 mbps. They now have implied that there have been problems with Time Capsules knocking customers offline. I looked through this community but have not found anything indicting such. I have connected my iMac (late 2009) and my Macbook Pro ( late 2014) directly to the cable modem with the same results. I am a tech writer and up/down load some large files. It seems more like that is the problem. More so it seems like they are intentionally knocking me offline. Is it possible that the TC could be knocking me offline. I am at a loss as to a solution.User uploaded file

There are indeed issues with the TC.. particularly to SB6121 and 6141 modems.. but generally Ubee are ok.

As well as daily falling over..

I am knocked off almost every day at least once a day

Can you detail exactly what happens.. lights on the TC going off? Wireless dropout?? TC powers itself off??

does the airport utility show what errors are happening to the TC.. eg no WAN connection?

Can you also explain this bit with more details.

I have connected my iMac (late 2009) and my Macbook Pro ( late 2014) directly to the cable modem with the same results.

Dropout of connections to a pure modem would be serious.. over wireless to a modem router.. well it is a factor that wireless is not ever that great.. are you using ethernet??

Is Ubee a pure modem or modem router??

What is the model number of Ubee.. it helps for us to have full details.

15Mbps is fairly slow for cable.. it sounds like broadband service is not good in your area.

Certainly doing big uploads is probably not welcome if they are struggling with bandwidth.

The times this happens are erratic. In any case, I might be out and when I get home my wife says no internet or I get up in the am and No Internet. When I check both cable modem and TC, all modem lights are good and TC has green light but I cannot access internet os mail . I have tried to connect my iMac and MacBook Pro directly to the cable modem. Results are the same. Try to load something and get the appears that you don’t have an internet connection message. I have another iMac downstairs as well as 2 iPhones and 2 iPads all connected wirelessly. I have tried to connect the TC to the cable modem and connect the iMac and Macbook to the TC via ethernet cables with the same result. As far as what the TC is showing via airport utility, it has shown no connection to the internet when I was able to check that. My only resolution to that was to reset both the cable modem and the TC by power them down and then connecting the modem first and then the TC.

The TC is A1470

The Ubee is DDW3611

The only other item is in the Airport settings under network. It is set to OFF (Bridge Mode).

Something else to consider. I have been out of town for about 2 1/2 weeks sitting for an ill mother. My wife reports no issues.

If it has given no problems for 21/2 weeks there is a good chance the issue was cable company..

Leave it be and see if it behaves.

The Ubee is a modem router.. and the TC is correct in bridge.

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the system.

I do however recommend the ethernet cable from the UBee modem router to the TC.. wan port.. change that over to LAN port.

In bridge there is no need to use WAN .. and it seems that WAN is more likely to have issues.. It is a simple unplug from WAN plug into LAN change.. and I think the TC will behave a bit better..

The droputs are going to be difficult to track down and if your wife is non-techie type leave the system as is.. if it works.. leave it working.

If it fails just reboot everything.. but when you get back home try the change over.. WAN to LAN on the TC..

Hope your mum is getting better.. !!
