Q: Copying Apple Loops from old to new mac

Just bought myself a new iMac, but then GarageBand doesn't have the same loops as I had bought for the old one and used for my songs. Is there any way I can copy the loops I need to use from the old mac to the new one? Where are the loops stored?

A new Mac with GarageBAnd 10 will have different loops from the earlier GarageBand '11.  And if you additionally installed JamPacks, they will be missing in GarageBand 10.0 as well.

You can copy the loops over  from your old Mac to the corresponding installation directories and then rebuild the Loop Index.

You will also have to copy any missing instruments over.

This support documents lists the places where loops get installed. It will depend on the version of GarageBand that installed the loops.

Any missing instruments will be in the folder /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/

To Reindex the Apple Loops user library,  Click Loops at the top of the Loop Browser, then choose Reindex All Loops from the pop-up menu.
