PLEASE READ--I've had it with the Ecosystem

Hi everyone,

Normally, I'm quite easy going...and I'm pretty computer-literate.

But is grown VERY tired of Apple and their "ecosystem". Even this discussion forum---it's SO subdivided, I highly doubt this note will even get read, let alone responded to.

I purchased an iMac in 2010, with the notion it would be more compatible with my iPhone. Turns out...I didn't need to do that...and now I am trapped in this god-awful Apple ecosystem.

I'm just an average user and I've grown tired of being a slave to Apple.

My major complaint is iTunes and purchases.

Here's a hint Apple---I bought it, I OWN it!

1) I bought it--it's mine. Just give me my copy. Thanks.

2) I have NO interest in whatever Cloud you have. I purchased an item. Download it to my HARDDRIVE, like I want and LEAVE IT THERE. If I want it on my phone--I'll do it. I've HAD IT with clicking a song, and being met with a cloud icon. I don't want to stream ANYTHING. I have to pay for that streaming---and I don't want to. I just the **** song on my hard-drive or phone. Period.

I BOUGHT IT--STOP SCREWING AROUND WITH MY PURCHASE.

3) I have NO interest in having to sign on to all my items (MAC, phone, iPad). I have NO interest in having all these devices talking to each other.

In case you missed it---NO ONE DOES.

Apple---you seem to miss the whole point that users want to use their devices THEIR way...not YOUR WAY.

IM FED UP....with downloading an update for my phone and it's full of "amazing" apps...which no-one uses and just takes up space.

Have you considered an iPhone "lite" where it's just a phone, text app and a browser and THATS IT???? Let USERS decide what they want on their device.

I will never use ihealth or iwatch. Never. I don't want your **** on my device.

ABF here is another big gripe that Apple needs to consider---otherwise---some lawyer will come after you.

Apple devices do NOT need to be hooked together.

example: user is having a private text conversation, but---thanks to the clever jerks at Apple---that private conversation pops up on an iPad or computer screen miles away. Gee...all of a sudden, that private exchange is quite public and can be quite damaging to business and/or personal endeavors.

But what does Apple care? Soooo smart hooking everything together, with virtually NO WAY TO OPT OUT OF ANY OF THIS ****.

Apple ply will care when they're hauled into some divorce court somewhere explaining their "helpful" innovations.

In short Apple----respect your customers. Period. Allow your customers to do what THEY want...not what YOU want.

JUST. *******. STOP. IT.

OH....and the first person that replies with "you can turn this function off by..."....really??

I tried it all by reading the informative instruction manual that accompanies all Apple products in their silky white boxes.

Oh that's right....THEY DONT!!!!

WIth ANY Apple product, the way to find anything is:

Settings-section where you wouldn't expect to find the answer--carefully hidden area that likely won't work---sub menu that asks for 4 new accounts for you to create---drop down menu to select---hit enter---exit---oh, and **** you, because as soon as you update your device, it all gets reset

This note is for anyone who is totally frustrated with Apple and their arbitrary OS garbage.

THanks for the floor

Tony

This is a user-to-user technical support forum, as was explained in the Terms of Use to which you agreed when you signed up. Do you have a technical support questions that we, your fellow users can help with? If not, you should be posting this in Feedback:

No one is required to link their Apple devices together. If you need help undoing what you did, please ask a proper question.

As for "you bought it, you own it", well, maybe. You own the hardware. You do not own the software or the media content. Those you license, under terms you agreed to.

And that right there is fundamental ignorance. When it comes to software, operating systems, DRM protected music, books and any other electronic content you download from the iTunes or App Stores - YOU DO NOT OWN IT! You purchased a license to USE it and nothing more. That intellectual property is owned by the author, and they get to set limits, conditions or anything else they wish on how you are licensed to USE it. Get over your misguided sense of ownership and entitlement and understand that when people create such content it is their legal property, not yours. They get to control how it is allowed to be used.

If you do not accept that, then don't buy the license to use it in the first place.
