Oct 23, 2015 8:22 AM in response to Gelobby Russ H,If it were just the Viewer, the likely cause would be that Viewer simply options were set to alpha.
If it's more than just the Viewer, please take a screenshot of what you're describing and post it so we can see.

Oct 23, 2015 10:05 AM in response to Gelobby Tom Wolsky,That's ugly. What's the system specs, especially the graphics card, and what are your system prefs isplay settings?

Oct 23, 2015 10:31 AM in response to Gelobby Edward A. Oates,This occurred on my system (MacPro 5,1 Hex 3.33GHz) right after I upgraded to El Capitan. Some projects would work, though: those without titles or themes. But when I started those (after moving the offending project out of the containers), the titles and themes window showed that none existed. Also, Compressor crashed on launch.
The only fix was to remove FCP X and Compressor using Apple Support's instructions, then reinstall. Then I put the offending projects back into the containers and all was well.
I also got the warning about non-compliant audio units and deinstalled all my amplitude apps as well as ProTools 10 (which doesn't work anyway on Yosemite or El Capitan).
It doesn't take that long to reinstall, but you do lose your preferences in terms of "destinations", window set ups, and custom compressor settings. Oh, well, sometimes it doesn't "just work."

Oct 23, 2015 10:27 AM in response to Gelobby Russ H,Just to be clear, Tom and I are asking about different things.
The version I was asking about is the version number for Final Cut Pro X…asking because of the tool bar in your screenshot.

Oct 24, 2015 11:49 AM in response to Gelobby Russ H,Just to note that the last version of FCP X to have that toolbar layout was 10.0.5.
I'd venture that its incompatibility with your version of OS X explains why the GUI displays is so weird.

Oct 24, 2015 11:53 AM in response to Edward A. Oatesby Edward A. Oates,PS: my version of FCP X was the latest, 10.2.2 before I upgraded to El Capitan; my version of the crashing Compressor was also the latest, 4.2.1. Just something weird about the upgrade.

Yes. Thinking your issue may have seemed related to the OP's but actually had different causes. OS compatibility with the app clearly wasn't your problem. Something else.
