Oct 23, 2015 9:32 AM in response to Praxandrosby Allan Eckert,Seeing as how Office for Mac is a Microsoft product, what did they say when you asked them about your problems?

Oct 23, 2015 9:34 AM in response to Allan Eckertby Praxandros,Microsoft's official reply to the torrent of similar complaints was that "they were actively working with Apple" to resolve this. They were referring to the update released the day before. Personally, I have not seen any improvement.

Oct 23, 2015 10:22 AM in response to Praxandrosby Allan Jones,If any end-users have found a workabout, they will be in the MS Office:Mac forums here:
However, my review of what's been posted there suggests that MS let themselves be caught short by the OS 10.11 upgrade and are once again behind the curve. Remember it took them two years (2006-2008) to release a version of Office:Mac that would run natively on an Intel-based Mac.

Oct 23, 2015 10:44 AM in response to Praxandrosby FoxFifth,I have had no problems with Office for Mac 2016 since the OS X 10.11.1 update.
One thing you might try if you haven't already is to do a complete uninstall using the following directions: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Uninstall-Office-2016-for-Mac-eefa1199- 5b58-43af-8a3d-b73dc1a8cae3 and then reinstall.

Oct 23, 2015 11:23 PM in response to FoxFifthby Praxandros,Dear friend, thanks for the suggestion and for taking the time to read my message.
I've tried that, actually, twice, following the instructions you mention. No change... As we speak, my Outlook is frozen and Word refuses to open. When they do start eventually, they are painfully slow, while the colouful beach balls of death are dancing in front of me in constant succession, as if I am not situated in a lonely university office but at the most cosmopolitan beach in Copa Cabana!
I have had my computer checked for everything conceivable. Things work fine until one Office program is activated: the all **** breaks loose.
I have to admit, this is the first time I feel so let down by Apple, by whose name I usually swear.
A.
