Mail is suddenly cc'ing me when I hit reply all on a message that was originally sent to me

This is not normal Mail behavior and I think that it may have started with El Capitan. If someone sends me and another person an email, when I hit reply all I should not be added to the cc and get a copy of the email. It should just end up in my sent folder automatically. Why would I want another record of the email in the inbox all of a sudden. Outlook doesn't do this and Mail never did before. I'm using Exchange Server. I saw some comments about aliases not matching but I don't think that's the issue. This just started happening and Tech Support told me it's perfectly normal, which it isn't, and in fact her email did the same thing. This should be fixed.

I had this problem with my exchange account after upgrading to Sierra from Yosemite. Here is how I fixed it. Go into preferences > Accounts. Under the Account Information Tab click on the dropdown beside Email Addresses. Add in any alias that may be associated with your email. (For instance, the actual account is j.doe@email.com but you use an alias of John.x.doe@email.com.) Make sure they are both listed.
