So when I go to text my boyfriend, who has a samsung, only some of my SMS messages go through. It happens randomly, but on my phone it looks like they are delivered but they don't go through

Based on what you stated, it seems that you are able to send and receive messages but a different user on a different device is not able to receive messages. I would recommend you read these articles, they should be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.
If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
- Restart your device.
- Check for a carrier settings update.
- Check for an iOS software update.

If you're not getting an error message, the problem may well be on his end.
When I go to text a samsung user, only some of my SMS messages deliver. How can I fix this?
