Conflict of iPad Pages with iOS 9.1

After installing iOS 9.1 on my iPad Air, Pages refused to open. I deleted Pages from iTunes and reinstalled Pages to iPad. App opened but advised an update was available which I refused and I worked for an hour without problem. When I returned to work again, Pages would not open.
