Studying Mechanical Engineering, which laptop is best for me? Windows or Mac?

I am currently going to enter as a freshmen this January in the college life. I have been asking around and want to know, what is the best laptop for me to study Mechanical Engineering, that will be able to run my programs a regular Mechanical Engineer needs for his studies and homework. I am being told windows is best for me, but I am an apple guy. I want to know which laptop is best for m
