Q: Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

I foolishly updated both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini with the new iOS 9.1 on the day of release, and spent all day yesterday trying to make Apple Music work. around 11pm, it finally worked on my iPad after login/signing on and off for a few hours, today it shows everything fine, but don't play anything. After communicating with Apple Music Help on Twitter I decided to re-install it all on the iPhone 6, hours of the signing on and off frozen, Apple Music on the phone shows For You, New and Connect OK, but won't play, Radio doesn't load at all and My Music is empty, not linking to my Music Match on ICloud. Now (Saturday 16:26), I can only listen to my music and Beats 1 from my main MacBook Pro... I definitely think this iOS 9.1 is a massive mistake. I am trying to reset my iPhone from scratch as I type this, backing it up from the Cloud from 3 days ago, but I launched this 1 hour ago and it still does nothing.... Not very convenient to do the Beats Run tomorrow if I need to png in my laptop in a rucksack as no small device is usable.

Meaning that ITunes Match and Apple Music are not compatible with each other? Silly! They worked perfectly until that update. I have Match because I have plenty of music that is not released (demos, unreleased from friends etc) and Music for Beats1 and new releases. I need these for my work. It is infuriating now!

I have both iTunes Match and Apple Music as well. My subscription renewed October 23rd. Wondering if they are not working well together. I noticed today a smsrt playlist I made on my MacBook said it could not be uploaded to iCloud music library because it contained songs that aren't in iCloud music library, although the status of my songs were all either apple music, matched, or uploaded. Infuriating to say the least. On the bright side, still running strong on 8.4.1 and patiently waiting for a patch so I can get back on iOS 9.

also, did someone say this bug literally bricked their iPhone today?

I found more people in the iPhone forum with this same issue, this is a 7 page thread.

This is a terrible bug. I'm experiencing all of these issues and tried every solution mentioned, and nothing resolved. In fact my apple music doesn't even display my library anymore. I'm expecting a call from Apple this morning, but judging by all the experiences on here I don't expect them to be able to help until a patch comes out. I've just cancelled my spotify subscription in favour of apple too, so I can't play any music on my device at the moment. The email link issue is a massive frustration for work.

everything works fine on my imac, so it has to be a 9.1 issue

Totally disheartening that iOS 9.2 has perfectly replicated this bug. Even worse to know that iOS 9.0.2 solves the problem but Apple won't let me downgrade. I've given an earful on the Feedback Assistant but, realisticaly, I don't see a remedy for months to come.

I Just downloaded rhapsody and they're offering a month free and 3 months for a dollar.   I'm calling apple today and demanding a refund for my octobet and November  Apple Music subscription.   ios 9.1 has to be the worst build that i have ever experienced.

Just spent all morning with Apple but as friendly as customer support are they can't offer a solution. My case is being looked into further as apparently it's quite unique, judging by this thread I would suggest otherwise. It's clear to me that the issue is a conflict when upgrading to 9.1, so I can't see any fix until development has enough complaints to create a fix.

What we need to do to get this fixed at this point is raise awareness.

The more we make our voices know, the quicker Apple will acknowledge and fix it. Otherwise, 9.0.2 is the end of the road for me and if I have to get a new phone and it's still not fixed, I'll have to move to an Android (as much as I hate to say it).

I reset my phone and when switching it back on it momentarily connected to the app store. Now all of my apps are stuck in limbo failing to update on my screen. It's practically useless now.

Depressingly I think this may be right. I've combed through a few 9.2 beta forums/comment sections and have seen no mention of the bug. It's debilitating for a handful of users but doesn't appear to be widespread, so may just not end up being a priority. We can still make a lot of noise though.

Does anybody know of a way to migrate Apple ID purchase data and such to a new Apple ID? I see some people are having luck with creating a new ID but I don't want to lose purchased apps and Game Center data and such. Man what a mess.

We need to be heard! Everybody here who uses Social Networks: Twitter, Facebook, etc... share the link to this thread as much and as often as you can

Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

... It would obviously be more productive than news of the latest celebrity's breakdown!

To quote Howard Beale in Sidney Lumet's movie Network from 1976: "I'M AS MAD AS ****, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"

Create a new Apple ID, then use iCloud family sharing to let it grab all the purchases from the original Apple ID.

Since upgrading to iOS 9.1 on my iPhone 6+, I've narrow the these problems down to:

    * Links in emails no longer work

    * I can't download apps from the AppStore

    * I can't stream music on Apple Music.

    * I can't load radio stations in Apple Music.

I've tried all the suggested solutions in this thread, except for completely resetting my iPhone. I've got my phone almost back to normal by:

    1. Turn off Settings -> Music -> iCloud Music Library if you have it turned on.

    2. Log out of Apple Music, iTunes & Apple Store, iCloud.

    3. Reboot phone. Sign back into iCloud.  Do not sign back into iTunes & Apple Store.

    4. Sign into Apple Music.

At this point I can stream music, download apps, link on email links. However, turning on iCloud Music Library and try to download playlist does not work. After a period of time of streaming music, all the issues above return. Repeating the 4 steps above gets me back to not having the issues.  Rise and repeat...

The bug is related to losing verification of your Apple ID at some point in time. My best guess is there is a cache that stores this information that gets corrupted. Pinpointing when is a challenge.

Let's hope Apple Developers can provide a fix soon!

Yes this is what I've done, but is a pain long term. New account added to my family.

According to my Apple support contact there is one engineer looking at my problem. I don't know their setup but my guess is this problem is just one of many things on the team backlog. Are people being pulled in to the team to swarm on this bug (unlikely) or are they being pulled elsewhere to get 9.2 out (likely)?
