Q: Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

I foolishly updated both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini with the new iOS 9.1 on the day of release, and spent all day yesterday trying to make Apple Music work. around 11pm, it finally worked on my iPad after login/signing on and off for a few hours, today it shows everything fine, but don't play anything. After communicating with Apple Music Help on Twitter I decided to re-install it all on the iPhone 6, hours of the signing on and off frozen, Apple Music on the phone shows For You, New and Connect OK, but won't play, Radio doesn't load at all and My Music is empty, not linking to my Music Match on ICloud. Now (Saturday 16:26), I can only listen to my music and Beats 1 from my main MacBook Pro... I definitely think this iOS 9.1 is a massive mistake. I am trying to reset my iPhone from scratch as I type this, backing it up from the Cloud from 3 days ago, but I launched this 1 hour ago and it still does nothing.... Not very convenient to do the Beats Run tomorrow if I need to png in my laptop in a rucksack as no small device is usable.

I've given up with the Senior Technical Support Advisor who was supposedly dealing with my case. He's gone into hiding and clearly hasn't got a clue how to offer a solution. I've managed to update and manage my apps through iTunes on my mac. The email hyperlinks are a minor annoyance but I suppose I can live with that for now. Luckily my apple music was still the free trial so I've renewed my Spotify subscription. If this isn't resolved within the next few weeks I suppose i'll have to make bigger decisions over switching phones

Same here. I have been a faithful Apple customer since 1996, always happy to pay the price for items that were good quality and totally reliable. Yesterday for the very first time, I returned the IPod Touch, which in other circumstances I would have kept, especially with Christmas around the corner. I too am locked in Apple ecosystem, in the household, we have 2 MacBook Pro, 3 IPads, 2 IPhones, and every Beats head/earphones you can name! For the very first time, I didn't stop to look at eventually getting an Apple TV, I didn't stop to look at anything, I left the store very depressed and sad... I am lost for words, I feel cheated, used, abused... my purchased music over the years is safe on an old generation IPod, and on 2 external hard drives, I bought some IBooks, which I will be upset to loose, but I will never buy another one, in case I ultimately have to create a new account and new ID... If at least someone from Apple would post here, "We are sorry, we are doing all we can to fix it", but no, we are totally ignored!

Sean, I'm curious about the corrupted Apple ID thing, wouldn't the fact that the IDs work fine on Mac and Apple TV suggest that this is an issue with iOS, not the ID? There could be some nuance I'm missing here, feel free to set me straight.

Can't disagree with your assessment of how Apple will likely handle this. Honestly if faced with the choice between a new Apple ID and jumping to Android, I might just go with the new ID. Either way I'd be hitting the reset button on all my purchases, but one option is still less drastic than the other. It'd be nice to think I'd be punishing Apple somehow for bad behavior, but even if everyone on this thread switched to Android, would they even notice the blip?

Curious how other people see this, I'm still not decided on which way to go.

That's the most infuriating thing, how they are treating my case as if it's a total freak and an isolated case. It may only a be small percentage of us experiencing this issue but for them to pretend it's not happening is insulting.

I agree with you, I've been having this problem for nearly three weeks. I never thought I would say it, but I'm disappointed in Apple. Apple music doesn't work and I pay for that service, I can't buy or download any apps, I can't update any apps unless I sign out of the App Store, hperlinks from email don't work...... Frustrating and infuriated. I was supposed to here from the store a couple of days later after I made an appointment last Thursday and the issue was escalated..... Never heard back. I sent the guy an email, and he is response was,'if people are writing articles on the internet about it, that Apple will take care of it....... Still waiting. Here's the article that I sent him http://pocket.co/solzRR . I'm extremely disappointed right now, everyone in my house has an iPad and an iPhone. Their products are deeply integrated into my family's life and work and school, and this is what I get...... No acknowledgement that there is even a problem, when obvious from this thread and the article that I imentioned in my comments earlier that a problem exists. My friends who own android devices are laughing at me.

I feel like I got dumped by the pretty girl that everyone told me not to date....

The first time I saw this issue was in iOS 8.4.1. They managed to fix the bug in version 9.0, so it doesn't seem very difficult...

Like everyone else in this thread, I am having an issue as well. Not sure how long it has been on going as I am not a big music buff, but I do occasionally like to listen my music as I work out. Here is my configuration:

64GB iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 9.1 (13B143), Verizon Network if that matters.

My issue is similar to another in this thread. When I start Music, it sits idle at the start up screen, the concert picture with the Apple Music logo. I can not go to any of music/playlists. It just sits idle.

Is Apple doing anything to correct this and if so, when can we expect a fix?

Allow me to clarify a bit, after nearly 3 weeks of posting/reading comments, I wish now that I could rename the title of this thread

Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

Apple Music is not at fault! It works perfectly on Yosemite and El Capitan, on MacBooks.... The problem IS IOS9.1, wether or not it has something to do with the Apple ID, I don't know.... Why would HYPERLINKS not load from emails when it goes pear shaped? The Apple ID has nothing to do with that?!

aand downloading Apps on your Cloud that are already purchased, or FREE? Any idea anyone? As I already said, anyone posting here and having Twitter/Facebook etc... Accounts: Talk about it, make some noise.... Invade the airwaves. Someone told me today: "Oh yes, that issue with IOS9.1, I heard briefly about it on Radio 6 (UK) in a late night show.... Does somebody at Apple put the lid on it, because it would so shocking of Apple to have viruses/bugs and the likes ?

I think it definitely has something to do with the ID, because that connects all the issues (except for links, which is baffling). I also do think it's connected to Apple Music because I have two Apple IDs - one of them, not connected to Apple Music, works fine. The other, connected to Apple Music, has all the bugs listed in this discussion. Of course it may be purely coincidental, but I doubt it.

How about we all send a tweet with a link to the thread to the Apple Music help Twitter account today like I've just done

On the other thread I saw these...

Apple called and told me that they are working hard on a fix for this. Although they still don't know what the problem is, they expect to have a 9.2 ready by the end of the week. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This is what they told me.

OS 9.1 causing app store issues

Looks like a 3rd beta of 9.2 was released. If anyone has any luck with that let us know.

I have been posting this every evening this week, to Tech accounts, Apple, Mac, Newspaper, Radios.. All the ones who tweet all day... Not a single taker

    @SophieLo2: #Apple Plenty of problems in #IOS 9.1

Tthe launch of the new Appke Tv and IPad Pro, is obviously more a priority than fixing existing problems!

Here I am the bearer of bad news. Just installed iOS 9.2 public beta 3. All problems remain. All of them. Back to my family ID workaround. There is no joy in Mudville, mighty Apple has struck out.

Well well, this will boost the sales of Samsung Galaxy, and I could trash my IPhone!... Because I refuse to give up on Apple Music and Beats 1 Radio!
