Q: Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

I foolishly updated both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini with the new iOS 9.1 on the day of release, and spent all day yesterday trying to make Apple Music work. around 11pm, it finally worked on my iPad after login/signing on and off for a few hours, today it shows everything fine, but don't play anything. After communicating with Apple Music Help on Twitter I decided to re-install it all on the iPhone 6, hours of the signing on and off frozen, Apple Music on the phone shows For You, New and Connect OK, but won't play, Radio doesn't load at all and My Music is empty, not linking to my Music Match on ICloud. Now (Saturday 16:26), I can only listen to my music and Beats 1 from my main MacBook Pro... I definitely think this iOS 9.1 is a massive mistake. I am trying to reset my iPhone from scratch as I type this, backing it up from the Cloud from 3 days ago, but I launched this 1 hour ago and it still does nothing.... Not very convenient to do the Beats Run tomorrow if I need to png in my laptop in a rucksack as no small device is usable.

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Misery loves company. I've been having all these problems as well. No Cloud music, can't download from App store, Apple Music. You name it, I've had it too.

One thing that comes to me...why is it happening to some, and not others? A few months back, I changed my email address, and changed my Apple ID to my new email. Has anybody else done that? Could this be a cause? Just spit-ballin' here.

Also...I know creating a new Apple ID allows everything to work, but you don't have access to your cloud library, purchased apps, et. al. So...has anybody tried changing their Apple ID to a new ID (i.e. @icloud.com)? And...if so...did they still have the problem? If I thought it would fix the problem for me, I wouldn't really have an issue with changing my ID to my @icloud.com email if I thought it would help.

Again...just throwing out some suggestions. I haven't had the time to read EVERY post of this 24 page thread. Sheesh.

The  workaround that has worked for me - and is described in this discussion forum - is setting up a new Apple ID and then linking it to my main Apple ID through family sharing. That fixed all my problems - apps updating and new app purchases possible, hyperlinks in emails working, and Apple Music loading fine onto my phone.

The only problem with this solution is that I cannot get my very carefully curated original iCloud Music Library onto my iPhone as it is linked to my main Apple ID even with a family subscription to Apple Music. This is a major problem, not because the library would take many days/weeks to recreate.

Does anyone know a way to get my iCloud Music Library associated with my original Apple ID replicated into my new (temporary) Apple ID?

My temporary solution has been to make a playlist with your library, and then share it with your other account.

I made the playlist on my Mac and texted it to myself.

On my phone, under the new ID, I was able to open and add it to my library.

It's far from perfect, but it's what Is working for me, until Apple gets back with me.

Fix is easy. Just switch off "Show Apple Music" under Music in settings after closing the music app, then restart and then enable "show Apple Music" and then open Music app again. Easy as that.

As you can see by the multiple posts on this thread - it's NOT that simple. Glad it worked for you but the issue is far deeper for many people.

Yesterday for the very first time I managed to have the Senior Advisor in the US read all the pages of this thread. I hope this will help.

My IPad has been down since monday, this morning I did a "home + side button" reset and it is working... But I know, the battle is not won yet.

I have another phone call scheduled for tomorrow.

This won't work. On 9.1 we lose our Apple Music altogether. It doesn't show up in Music under Settings.

I just was contacted by Apple, and will also be getting in contact with a Senior Advisor. I think our issue is so fringe, that it really hasn't been seen by them.

I really hope they're able to solve this. Wouldn't want this to get worse later on, and happen to more people.

Nothing much has changed for this group. I'm using the family ID workaround but would still like to see a solution. From this thread, the bug seems to affect .mac and gmail IDs. Every part of the bug has been consistent for me through resets, restores, clean installs, etc. And, when using my son's ID, all works perfectly. What I can't understand is why I have the bug on my iPhone 6S Plus but not my iPad 4 or iPhone 4S.

I did not have to do anything with the new T&Cs.  I think I had agreed to them before this problem arose. I just power cycled and turned airplane mode on/off.  Decided to decline the 3 month offer for now. Hope this continues to work!

I don't think I can agree that it's just gmail accounts, but I was willing to test it. Hel...I'm ready to try anything at this point. I changed my Apple ID to a different email address. It was promising at first. Music would play from the For You page...until it wouldn't anymore. Links in emails still didn't work, and my iCloud library still wouldnt load. The Radio would just spin. Like I said before, I did have music for awhile, then after about a half hour, it quit, and I was politely asked if I'd like to sign up for Apple Music. Sigh. I don't know how long i am going to put up with this before I cancel everything and start over.  But I have a family membership, so others in the family are affected. All the apps I've paid for would have to be purchased again. I would lose the balance of my itunes music subscription...and on and on. I just don't think I should pay a penalty for what is obviously their issue. But I guess I am either way. Very frustrating.

My email is neither .mac or gmail and I have the exact same bug as everyone else here. (Mine is a cox.net email.) This bug is going to be a bear to figure out, partly because it affects so relatively few people. Everyone who calls support about this seems to reach someone who claims to having never even heard of this, including senior support people and engineers. If this is the case I can't imagine it gets much priority. Unless this bug starts to give Apple some negative publicity, I don't think there's going to be much incentive to fix it that quickly. I think their first impression is that this is all due to something we've done wrong to cause this.
