Oct 24, 2015 1:39 PM in response to Old Toadby tonjik,Thank you for quick reaction.
Have run Disk Utility, there was one error on the disk, repaired successfully.
However, the Mail keeps crashing.
I have also tried this: http://www.macworld.com/article/1162877/mail_crashes.html
But the Mail quits before I can make any action...
Any other ideas?

Oct 24, 2015 1:47 PM in response to tonjikby tonjik,Update – partially solved:
In System Preferences / Internet Accounts I have tried to switch accounts on and off... Now it is clear that the problem is with Gmail:
When I switch the Gmail account off, the Mail works fine. When I switch it on again, the Mail crashes on start again.
Any ideas what to tweak on Gmail?
Thanks!

Oct 24, 2015 1:50 PM in response to tonjikby Old Toad,Other users have said their problems with Gmail were fixed when they went to their Gmail account online and checked a box in their account settings that said something about Mail mail not being a secure app. Go to your online Gmail account settings page and see if there's anything about Mail there. Or contact Google support about it.

Oct 24, 2015 2:20 PM in response to Linc Davisby tonjik,Thank you, tried this, did not help.
The problem is with Gmail account. When I switch it on, the Mail app crashes immediately.
Tired to limit no. of downloaded messages to 1 000 in Gmail IMAP settings, did not help.
Will try to clean messages from Gmail account and see if it gets better.
Thanks!
