Sim card help Iphone 5s

Ok, so I made a post asking how to use my iphone 5s my friend gave me as a wifi only device. Similar to an IPod.

Now, they told me to use a deactivated sim card. Now, if I go online and just get any sim card, will it be deactivated?

Please link me to one that will work so i can use my iphone 5s like an ipod, thank you!

We're not going to link you to anything. You can do that yourself.

The iPhone can be reactivated with any SIM from the carrier to which the phone is locked, or if it's an unlocked phone, any SIM from a supported carrier. The SIM can be activated or non-activated.

Do any of your friends have a late model iPhone? If so, use their SIM to activate the phone, and then give it back. Or go to your carrier and ask for a deactivated SIM. Just understand, however, every time you update the phone, you'll have to reactivate it with a SIM.

You make no sense. You don't want to pay a carrier, yet you will search the internet and pay someone else for a SIM? SIM cards are not expensive.

There's also a difference between UNACTIVATED (i.e. new) SIM cards and DEACTIVATED ones. If you purchase a SIM card over the internet you will likely have to register it and create an account.

Do YOU have a mobile phone? If you're in good standing, your carrier will probably either give you a SIM for free in which to activate the phone, or might just give you a deactivated SIM to use.
