Q: Why does iMessage say my messages are delivered and then re-send them as texts a few minutes later?

This has been happening to me all day--I will send a person or a group an iMessage, which they all seem to get and reply to, but then a few minutes later all my messages will re-send as texts, and turn from blue to green. Why does this keep happening? I just updated to iOS 9.1 last night, currently have an iPhone 6s.

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

It looks like your iMessages appear to send, but then they re-send as text messages.

To troubleshoot this, first try these steps from If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

Make sure that you’re connected to the Internet through cellular data or Wi-Fi.

Go to Settings > Messages. Check that the type of message that you're trying to send is turned on (iMessage, SMS, MMS, or Group messaging):

Sign out of iMessage and FaceTime, then sign back in:

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.

Go to Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.

On your iPhone first, sign back in to iMessage and FaceTime.

Sign back in to iMessage and FaceTime on your other devices.
