Q: start up disk almost full what to do

I get message your start up disk is almost full. How do I delete photos from my photo storage. It says I have 45.54GB of photos. I deleted albums from iPhoto and emptied the trash after deleting them but it still didn't change my amount of photo GB. What am I doing wrong?

How much free space do you have? If you have less than 10GB you have a major problem

If you have migrated to Photos then you need to delete form both Photos and iPhoto

and there is a good chance that you need to add an external drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) for your photos library
