Q: Apps won't sync as it is saying computer is not authorised

I got a replacement phone from apple due to faults (third 5s I have had in 18 months).  So I have restored the phone to the backup.  It stated that it could not sync the apps because the computer is not authorised.  I went into iTunes settings - Store / Authorise this computer.  It was already authorised.   So thought ok, I will unauthorise all computers.  Did that, then reauthorised this computer.  Unlinked phone to computer, turned off and back on.  Restarted PC to ensure settings worked.

Logged back into iTunes, connected iPhone and still would not sync apps saying the computer is not authorised.

Any ideas?

ITunes is updated to latest version

iphone is updated to latest version

I was restoring from the latest backup

The icons are there but blacked out on the iphone and they appear in the iTunes app library.

Just some history - I went into the apple store because they had given me a refurbished phone 4 weeks ago to fix another error, but the microphone broke, so they gave me this new phone.

    Hey lns0824,

I understand that you're not able to access certain apps on your iPhone as iTunes states that you're not authorized for these purchases. This is likely due to the affected apps having been purchased under a different Apple ID. The steps outlined below can help identify the necessary account for which your computer needs to be authorized.

Authorize your purchases with the correct account name

The items you're trying to play might have been purchased using a different iTunes Store account. To determine which account was used to purchase an item, follow the steps below:

    1. Select a purchased song in your library.
    2. Mac: From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose File > Get Info.
Windows: Press Control and B on your keyboard to turn on the iTunes menu bar. From the menu bar, choose File > Get Info. Learn more about menus in iTunes for Windows.
    3. Click the File tab. Make note of the Account Name that appears in the list. This is the account name (Apple ID) that you need to use when you authorize your computer to play this purchase.
The Apple ID that appears is the one that you used when you purchased the item. The Apple ID you used to purchase the item doesn't change, even if you change your Apple ID.
    4. Authorize your computer.

If you authorized the Apple ID that is shown in the Summary File tab, check your purchase history for that Apple ID. If your purchase history doesn't reflect the purchase of the items in your iTunes library, think about any other Apple ID you might have created, and authorize your computer for that Apple ID.

If you forgot the password to one of your accounts, recover it using Apple's password-recovery website.

If iTunes repeatedly prompts you to authorize your computer

    Sincerely
