After reviewing your post, It sounds like conversations are started from your email address and iMessage won't send. I would recommend you read these articles, they may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.
Link your iPhone number and Apple ID to use iMessage and FaceTime - Apple Support
If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.
In these settings will be a group called "start new conversation from" make sure your number is selected.
