I am unable to restore or backup using itunes

iPad 2, iOS 8.1.2

    Hi

    Make sure your PC is running latest itunes 12 .3

    Turn iPad OFF

    Connect lead to USB on your PC

    Press & hold power button down Don't let go .

    Connect lead to iPad keep power button pressed down

    Until PC sees ipad then wait for restore .

    You may need to do this a few times before it works .

    For some reason this did not work

    THe backup tab on iTunes do not look like it works.  It does not depress or look like it has been clicked on. Not sure it's recognizung my ipad
