Q: New MacBook 2015 won't turn on

Hello,

I've bought the new MacBook 12" about a week ago and when I tried to turn it on today, nothing happened.

I have already tried everything I could find like SMC reset...

I don't think the problem is the battery charger, I can't really check it though since there is no light anymore.

I can only have an apointement on wenesday and as a student I really need it to work. I never had a problem with my last MacBook Pro I had for 4 years and I take care about it, that's why I find it really weird and I don't know what's wrong.

Does anybody have a solution ? Thanks for your help !

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Same thing happened to me last week. I had to take it to the Apple Store for repair. They replaced the motherboard. I am seeing more posts about this issue with the new Retina MacBook and wonder how common the fault is?

I can't really check it though since there is no light anymore.

When you connect the charger, you should see a battery chargiing image graphic on the screen, and there will be an audible beep similar to what you hear when plugging in an iPhone to charge.

I had to take it to the Apple Store too, they replaced it because I had it for less than 2 weeks. They couldn't do anything to get back my files... I'm kind of afraid about this issue though...

Which is the reason why you should always maintain an external backup of your system. There are always the possibilities of equipment failure, theft, and loss.

My brand new 2015 MacBook has also stopped working after 2 weeks of being purchased; as it won't turn on. So many people have said they've had the same problem think it Is maybe something Apple should look into.

This is is my first MacBook and let's just say it's not living up to the 'amazing' reputation that people have told me it is.

I Also purchased apple care plan which should cover me for 3 years just in case anything like this happened, only bad thing is its 8pm and no one is able to help me with this problem.
