Video clips turned black

Hi, really hope someone can help me. I imported some video and synced it with the audio. Was editing fine for about an hour. Got up for a few minutes and when I came back, the video clips in the library and in the timeline had gone black. I tried deleting FCPX's preferences and restarting my computer and still nothing. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?User uploaded file

The "Delete Generated Event Files" command did not fix this problem, even if the problematic clips were moved to another library.

Troubleshooting this from a "what did i do beforehand" perspective is difficult, but:

1. I had copied the original Event to a new Library on another hard disk via a Finder copy due to running out of disk space on the original drive. However, the Event functioned normally and I edited normally over an hour after this.

3. I probably moved the event before all clips had been copied from the camera memory card to the Library.

2. The problem started after I tried to apply stabilization to a clip. The stabilization never worked, and the switch in the Inspector did not stay on

YOu went inside the library bundle and did this? You can't do that. It's ruined the library database. Moving events between libraries has to be inside the application.

I ended up having to contact final cut services directly to have them help since no one else seemed to have an answer. They suggested that the problem was due to my external hard drive not being formatted to Mac extended Journal. It was on MOS Fat. So after I pulled everything off, reformatted it and then started all over the problem seemed to be resolved...no more black clips. However, it didn't prevent FCPX from crashing my computer several times. Small steps. If anyone has a solution to that or know what the problem might be I'd love to know.

I try to never dig inside the bundles. As you point out, it's a bad idea.

I recall either copying the Library over to the new disk (via finder copy), and then opening it in FCP, or

I made a new Library (on the new disk) in FCP, and copied the event inside FCP.

Either way, the clips were all the time the "edit while ingesting" camera clips, which probably screwed something up when the Library/event moved to another disk.
