iPad iOS 9 keyboard word select shortcut

Does anyone know how to turn off the automatic word / line selection that has been introduced in iOS9 on the iPad keyboard?

When I type quickly a comma then space, for example (there are some other combinations), the word of line of text I am typing is slected and then the next character deletes the whole lot

or is this a bug?

I got caught by this one, too: it's a new iOS 9 keyboard feature: two-finger tap anywhere on the keyboard selects the closest word, two-finger press lets you move the cursor around like on a trackpad, two-finger double tap and hold lets you select text from the cursor. I haven't found a way to turn it off, though. It's actually kind of useful once you get used to it.

This is driving me mad for must be about 6 months now and I really do hate Apple for it.

I have tried doing so many things to resolve it as advised in forums but nothing helps. I even wiped my Air 2 and started again last weekend and it did nothing to help the situation. I used to use my previous tablet to make notes in business meetings and I do type fast. Now I have to slow right down in case the keyboard selects big swathes of text and wipes it out, something it still does from time to time anyway, but this makes the darn thing next to useless and I just cant keep up with the conversations.

I am so close to dropping into my local store at the weekend, just giving it back and telling them I don't want it returned until its fixed and borrowing my daughters ipad2 with its pink sparkly case....as least I will get all my meeting notes. But then again why the **** should I as I paid £400 for it!!!!!!Grrrrr!!!!
