Random Piano note sound. What does that mean?
I've been sitting at the computer for several hours, doing an online course. I keep hearing a sound, like a single piano note at random intervals. What can that mean?

I found out that it was Facebook notifications making the piano sound.
What OS version do you have? Do you have Notifications turned on (if you're on Yosemite or El Capitan)?
Open System Preferences > Sound then select the Sound Effects tab.
See which one you have selected.
If that's not it, open Mac Mail.
From the Mac Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select the General tab.
See what you have selected for the: New messages sound pop up menu.
