El Capitan Flash issue

Make sure that you have the latest version of Flash Player from Adobe: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Since Flash has security weaknesses which Adobe fixes with updates, Apple is blocking Flash if the installed version is too old. You can check if you have the current version installed by opening System Preferences>Flash Player, clicking the Updates tab and then the Check Now button. It's also good practice to allow Adobe to install the updates automatically. Once you're current or nearly so, you can check if you're current at this Adobe website.

Allow Plug-ins

Safari > Preferences > Security

Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"

Enable it.

After an hour of looking for the issue, this post solved the problem with Crackle.com not recognizing I had the latest flash plug-in installed for Safari 9.1. By default on my Mac updated with El Capitan, the Safari Security settings blocked all flash media. Thank you Laobeer

Thank you so much. I was unable to watch my lectures for university, and couldn't work out why. You've solved all of my problems.

Open Safari->Preferences->Security, then select check "allow Plug-ins" and then click the button next to this. On the left you see the AdobeFlashPlayer when it is installed, on the right you see how to "allow" it.
